Make pendant with glass bottles yourself
Send your loved ones a message in a bottle! How you can make a pendant with a glass bottle yourself we show you here! For all glass bottle pendants there are again our handy shopping list with all the necessary materials in our webshop.
You can fill your message in a bottle with everything that is important to you. Especially good are small pieces of paper, such as cards or individually printed texts. In addition, you can also fill the bottles with small shells, anchors or glitter. The only tools you need are a pair of scissors to cut out the paper and a pair of tweezers. This will help you place the small items in the jar. To close the cork securely you need glue. Hasulith jewelry glue or dispersion glue is suitable.
In this tutorial we fill our message in a bottle with the coordinates of our home port. We have printed the coordinates on paper and cut them to size. To make the paper a little more stable, we fold it and glue both sides together.
The next step is to push the paper into the glass bottle. A pair of tweezers will help you to place the paper in the bottle.
The glass bottles are supplied by us complete with a matching cork and a suspension eyelet. The eyelet has a screw thread and can be easily screwed into the cork.
Now you just have to glue the cork into the neck of the bottle so that you can use the bottle as a pendant. Hasulith jewelry glue or dispersion glue is suitable for this. Both glues dry transparent. Coat the cork with some glue and press the cork into the bottle neck.
So that the cork also holds securely, you should let the pendant dry for at least 12 hours before you continue to work on it! Then you can hang it, for example, on a chain.
You can also decorate your message in a bottle with an anchor pendant. For this you can attach the pendant with a piece of copper wire to the cork. Pendant then moves later when worn in the bottle!
With a thick needle, e.g. a darning needle, you must first drill a hole in the cork. The tip of the needle must be inserted completely through the cork!
Attach the anchor pendant to the copper wire and pull the wire through the hole in the cork.
Now screw the suspension eye into the cork next to the wire.
The remaining wire you can wrap around the eyelet and cut off the rest with pliers. Now the bottle is already filled with a few little things to be. Pretty looks, for example, some sand and shells!
