Beautiful homemade keychains are a great gift idea. In this tutorial we made keychains with sail rope. The rope is a popular material for bracelets and necklaces. Here it is used for a new purpose for once. For these keychains we have used sail rope with a diameter of 10 mm. We offer the rope in our webshop in many colors. So everyone can find his favorite keychain. The keychain is quickly made. With a metal pendant with a nautical motif, the keychain becomes a special eye-catcher.
1. the first step is to cut an approx. 7 cm long piece of 10 mm diameter sail rope.
You can work the ends of the rope with a lighter.
Since the rope frays easily, this makes it easier to glue it into the end caps.
On one side, glue an end cap without an eyelet to the rope

On the other side, glue an end cap with an eyelet. If you are in a hurry, use super glue for this.
But you can use jewelry glue. Then the glued pendant must dry for at least 12 hours.
2. attach a binder ring to the metal pendant.
It is easier to attach the binder ring to the metal pendant with binder ring pliers.
3. in the last step, attach the sail rope pendant and the metal pendant to the key ring
