Leather color - All you need to know

Angelus leather dye is the cult brand from the USA. It convinces with its huge range of rich shades and is easy to process. The leather paint is suitable for dyeing and painting smooth leather. In addition to leather bracelets and other leather items, you can also dye shoes, boots, purses, belts, jackets and bags with the paint.

For this to happen, it is important that you prepare the leather. You can paint and dye both brand new and used leather items. The important thing is that the item is made of smooth leather. Both the Morello and Angelus companies offer special solvents for preparation that are matched to your colors. The best way to prepare the leather dye is to apply it to a soft cloth and wipe the leather surface thoroughly. Let the leather dry well before you start to paint the leather.

To ensure that the paint only ends up where you want it later, you should mask off these areas with an adhesive strip. Make sure that you press the tape as firmly as possible onto the leather so that the paint cannot run under the tape. The leather color is easy to spread on the leather. However, apply the paint as thinly as possible so that it can be absorbed evenly and dries evenly later! If necessary, you can also apply two coats of paint. Don't forget to color the edges of the leather as well. Once the paint is completely dry, you can peel off the adhesive strip. The drying time of the leather paint depends on the room temperature, the thickness of the leather and the layer of paint. However, allow at least one hour.

Tip embossing stamps: The purchase of embossing stamps is not quite cheap but a worthwhile investment, because you can use them for many different DIY projects. You can use the embossing stamps in our store for both metal and leather. When you use the stamps for different materials make sure that they are always clean. If you stamped metal first, there may still be slight marks on the stamp. If you then use the stamp for leather, there may be dark spots in the embossed leather that don't look so pretty!
