Step 1
To always have your phone at hand, a cell phone chain is an ideal solution. And the best thing is that you can easily pimp your cell phone case with a cell phone chain! You can find everything you need in our store. In this tutorial we show you how to make a cell phone chain step by step.

The material
You need canvas with a diameter of 5 mm with a length of at least 1.5 meters. In addition, an intermediate piece as a connector, screw rivets for cell phone cases and end caps for the band. If you want you can also add more beads as decoration on the ribbon. For gluing we recommend superglue.

The tools
To cut the sail rope you need a ceramic knife or scissors. For the cell phone cover you need a hole punch.

Step 2
First of all, you need to punch two holes in the phone case. We used a silicone case. These are particularly suitable. It is important that the cover is made of a soft material and does not splinter or tear when you punch a hole in it!

Before punching, you should also consider in which direction your phone should hang later. It is more practical to punch the holes in the bottom of the case. Depending on the model, the case may already have pre-made openings. It is ideal to punch the holes in front of the round edge of the case. Also make sure that the holes are centered on the edge of the sleeve. Otherwise, the screw will protrude over the sleeve later!

Step 3
Now you can attach the screw rivets to the phone case. The screw rivets consist of two parts. The lower part has a flat bottom and a threaded rod. Put this part through the case so that the flat part of the screw is inside the case and the thread is through the hole.

The upper part of the cell phone screw can then be screwed on.

Step 4
Attach both screws to the phone case and tighten the screws as much as possible. You don't want the screws to loosen and the phone to fall off when you wear it!

Step 5
Now you can pull the rope through the eyelets of the cell phone screws. It is best to measure the length of the cell phone chain beforehand, so that you can comfortably hang your cell phone around your neck.

Step 6
The intermediate piece here is the sliding clasp with which you can regulate the length of your cell phone chain. Choose the engraving that suits you best from our large assortment!

Step 7
The sail rope must now be closed with end caps. This looks nicer and prevents the ribbon from slipping through the sliding closure. Additionally you can thread a bead in front of each end cap. This looks nice and secures the closure additionally.

We recommend that you glue the end caps to the sail rope with super glue.

Step 8
Now just glue the other side of the ribbon and the cell phone chain is ready. Let everything dry a bit and then you can try out your new cell phone chain right away!

Step 9
You can pull the intermediate piece onto the sail rope in two different ways.

In the instructions we have pushed the tape through the intermediate piece in the opposite direction.
However, you can also pull the tape through the intermediate piece in the same direction.
Both methods work equally well and only differ in appearance.
