Rivoli - the upper polish
The typical rivoli cut consists of many lateral facets that converge to a point. Here, too, the number of facets varies with the stone diameter.
Rivoli Round Stone - the bottom
Round Stones are pointed on the underside. This gives the stones a special depth and sparkle. In Rivoli stones, the bottom side is as high as the top side. Settings for stones are always adapted exactly to the shape of the bottom side. Therefore Rivoli stones fit only in settings for Rivoli stones.
Rivoli Flatback - the bottom
Rivoli Flatbacks have a typical Rivoli cut on the top side and are completely flat on the bottom side. The stones can be glued into settings suitable for round cabochons of the same diameter.
Chaton Maxima Round Stones - the underside
The underside of these stones is significantly higher than the top side and, in contrast to the top side, tapers to a point. Here, too, the pointed underside serves to increase the brilliance and color depth of the stone. Gemstones are usually foiled on the underside, which has the advantage that the glue does not shine through when the stones and the light in the stone is better reflected. In the article description you will always find a note whether the stone is foiled.
Chaton Rose Flat Back - the bottom
Flat Back Chatons also have a flat bottom side. On the top side you have the typical chaton cut with a flattened top. These stones are also usually foiled. The Flat Backs are offered in many sizes and colors.
