Make cell phone chains yourself
In this DIY tutorial we will show you how to make a cell phone chain very easily and you can wear your smartphone around your neck.
The smartphone always with you and still your hands free. With the practical cell phone chains, this works out just fine. For a cell phone chain you need the following material: approx. 1.2 m of ribbon (5 - 6 mm diameter is ideal), sliders, end caps, binder rings, holder and glue. Now add the tools: Drill, scissors and flat nose pliers.
First, drill the holes in the smartphone case. We use a simple hand drill from the hardware store for this. Of course, you can also use an electric drill. Drill the holes in the lower corners of the case. On each side, drill two small holes that should be as close to each other as possible.
Now thread a binder ring into these small holes. To do this, you have to bend the binder ring open a little. It is important that the holes are not too far apart so that you can comfortably thread the binder ring through both holes.
Now you can attach a pendant holder to the binder ring. This is a sturdy metal ring with an eyelet. The ribbon will be pulled through the ring later.
Bend the binder ring again so that the trailer holder is firmly connected. Rotate the binder ring through the sleeve until the open part of the binder ring is on the inside of the sleeve.
Attach a pendant holder to the other side of the smartphone case in the same way.
You need for the cell phone chain a band about 1.2 meters long. The band length you can of course choose depending on body size or desired wearing position. You thread the ribbon through both pendant holders.
Next, attach the slider to the ribbon. The slider holds both bands together and you can later change the length of the cell phone chain. To do this, the slider is now pushed through the first opening on the band.
Now thread the second end of the tape through the second opening of the slider in the opposite direction.
Finally, you need to glue the end caps to the ends of the ribbon. If you like, you can of course decorate the cell phone chain with some additional bling. Great are, for example, settings for Swarovski stones, which you can additionally pull on the band. In our store you will find many other beautiful suitable beads for sail rope. You can glue the end caps very well with Hasulith jewelry glue to the ribbon.
After you glue the end caps, let everything dry for at least 12 hours. Here you can find more examples of mobile chains with complete material lists.
Another tip for you: Instead of a pendant holder, you can of course also use a large binder ring. You attach it to the smartphone case and pull the ribbon directly through the binder ring! Maybe you can think of other variations for the cell phone chain?
