What accessories are there for 10 mm sailing rope?

Accessories to make a make your own sail rope bracelet

In our online magazine number 35 you will find many jewellery ideas and instructions for the versatile striped sail rope. Thanks to these jewellery instructions you can make your own nautical bracelets. You will see that making them yourself is not difficult at all. In the following we would like to show you how your personal sail rope bracelet or bracelets could look like.

Bracelets with 10 mm sail rope
For these striped bracelets made of sail rope you need a magnetic clasp, a large hole metal bead and of course sail rope in your favourite colour. So quickly order the metal bead, the clasp and the cord and you're ready to go. First you pull the large hole bead over the sail rope. Then glue the sail rope into the clasp with our Hasulith jewellery glue. And now you have created your own sail rope bracelet. Making your own bracelets from sail rope is not difficult at all, is it?

Bracelets with sail rope
Instead of a maritime bracelet made of sail rope, you can also make a sail rope bracelet yourself. For this homemade bracelet with sail rope you need two different coloured ropes. Maybe you combine a striped sail rope with a single coloured sail rope? The two cords are simply connected by two metal beads with a large hole. For gluing in the sail rope we recommend our Hasulith Hasufix super glue. You can see the exact jewellery instructions for such a bracelet made of sail rope here.

Make your own anchor bracelet
In our range you will also find magnetic clasps with an anchor. If you combine these clasps with sail rope, you can make a beautiful anchor bracelet yourself. And this is how you can make your own bracelet from rope:

Step 1: Seal the ends of the sail rope with a lighter. Cutting the rope will quickly cause it to fray at the ends.

Step 2: Carefully apply some Hasulith jewellery glue to the end of the cord.

Step 3: Stick the end of the cord with the glue into the magnet.

Step 4: Allow the glued magnet clasp to dry briefly.

Step 5: Glue the other end of the cord into the magnet.

Accessories for making your own sail rope key ring
You can also use the striped sail rope to make your own beautiful key rings. These maritime key rings made of sail rope are ready in no time. All you need is the sail rope, end caps or spacers and a key ring of your choice. In our DIY online magazines Glückswerke 8 "Keychain home port" and Glückswerke 12 "Maritime keychain" you will find jewellery instructions for two different types of homemade keychains made of sail rope.

Sail rope key ringwith two different dew colours
A sail rope key ring can also be made of two different pieces of sail rope in different colours. Here we find the combination of striped and single-coloured sail rope the most beautiful. To make the keychain, you need a short piece of sail rope and a longer piece. The short piece is about 12 cm long. The longer piece is about 20 cm long. Pull the key ring onto the short piece of rope. Then you can glue the two pieces of the sail rope into the end cap slider. It is best to use Hasulith Hasufix super glue for this. After you have let the glue dry for a short time, your key ring made of sail rope is ready and you can attach all your keys to it.

Of course, you can also make a single-coloured keyring out of canvas yourself. You will need a piece of sail rope about 32 cm long. The rope is pulled completely through the metal connecting piece. The key ring can also be attached to the sail rope with a pendant holder. The sail rope is glued into the connector. Here you can see our basic instructions.

Nautical key rings made from sail rope

Creating sail rope key rings with end caps is even easier:

Step 1: Cut a piece of sail rope about 20 cm long. You can carefully heat the frayed ends with a lighter. This will melt the ends of the cord and give you a neat finish.

Step 2: Apply a thin layer of our super glue to both ends of the sail rope.

Step 3: Form the cord into a loop, making sure that both ends of the cord are at the same height.

Step 4: Slide the sail rope into the end cap.

And your homemade keyring is ready. You can order the end caps with different engravings, e.g. an anchor, or without engraving. The decision is yours. You can take a closer look at the step-by-step instructions in the basic instructions.
